What should I call this thing?

I know this is a newbie question, but I'm a newbie. I have a hard time saying "expedition" every time I refer to it. It's just too long and I need a shorter and easier-to-say name for it. "Expy" looks good typed in a post, but it kind of sounds weird to me when I actually say it... "Car" is an insult to its abilities, while my wife doesn't like for me to call it a "truck". I thought of the "X", but that sounds like I'm talking about some ex girlfriend or something. Some of you who've had yours for a while may have another shorter or abreviated name you call it. Mind giving me some ideas?

What is wrong with calling it a truck? My wife and son call my expy "the truck" all the time. What does she have against calling it a truck? It is based strongly off of the f-150 platform. I also use mine as a truck as often as possible so I can justify driving something that gets such terrible gas mileage

Expedition guys refer to them as Expy's all the time. Wife and family... its the S.U.V. and sometimes truck.

i just call it "the truck" or "my truck" which is how i refer to any of "my trucks" listed in my sig.


although when you drive 4 diff trucks and forget something in one or the other. you do have to use the full name when telling someone where stuff is LOL

I always refer to mine a a truck, especially since all I've ever driven are trucks. People always give me shit about calling it a truck cuz its an SUV, so I give them shit back and tell them to shove it or take their truck and hit the trails and see their faces when we finish... you can call it whatever you would like, but I usually refer to it as a truck.

Mine is called a UAV (urban assault vehicle) and my daughters name is Lola so its called the LUAV bc I built it with her in mind.

I tend to call my vehicle by its full name, "Expedition". BUt then, some also simply know my truck as "Nukie" (the name I gave the truck and is positioned on the back tailgate). But, I also refer to it in writing by Expy, X, and who knwos what else. Call it what you think it right and we will figure out what you are talking about.

Yea I think I'll go with the majority and call it my truck or SUV... Everybody will have to just get used to it.

normally vehicles are referred to with female names...but i refer to my truck as a dude...then i add presidential preference to it...Air Force 1...Army 1...Marine 1...everyone...i introduce to you...

In my mind it is a truck. I would never ever call it a car and I really don't like the term "SUV".

After thinking some more, I'm leaning toward getting used to saying "Expedition". Everything I've driven over the years has been easy to refer to - Tahoe, Rover, Jeep, Van, and so on, so I guess I'm just wanting the same thing with this one. I'm just gonna have to say "Expedition" over and over until it's easier for me. ...Or I could call it "Barbie".

i call mine a truck suv sounds weird lol. i usually refer to it as Big Red or The Monster lol. i love how my truck towers all my friends cars and now every time some one needs help Im the first one they call. out of my friends only one guy has something to top mine and thats a 7.3 liter Excursion, tug of war with an avalanche and the avalanche needed a new rear end including the houseing, the diff broke and punched a hole through the houseing, yea it was bad

My three year old son has a funny way of saying expedition. When he says it it comes out like "Edition" . He has grown very attached to it, now I know I can never replace it with something that gets over 20 mpgs consisitently lol.
