I have a 97 XLT & I know nothing about car audio. I was wondering what would be the most economical & decent sounding system I could get? I don't want to rock the neighborhood ridiculously, I just want it to sound really good on a budget. Can anyone help me out on what to get?

Figure out your budget. First and work from there. What do you have in the truck now? Everything stock? Mach system? Are you installing?

2 sets of 5x7s with about 60-100 rms...a 4-ch amp to match 100x4 rms...a single 10" or 12" sub about 300-400rms and amp to match that...if u aren't looking for something to last for the next 20yrs...check out ebay for Boss...Pyle...Lanzar...Soundstorm...theyre very very inexpensive and u can do ur truck for maybe $300-$500 for everything...then u can install or get someone to help or someone to do it...youtube will help with install
