I'm thinking of updating / upgrading slightly from my '11 to a late 3rd gen or early 4th gen, but the deal breakers for me are the body issues that plagued the Expedition for so many years. I had an '04 with rusted out rockers and a corroded liftgate; now my '11 is developing pretty serious rocker / door jamb rust and the liftgate is a disaster. What year did Ford finally fix both of these issues?

Aluminum body's intro'd in 2018. My 2019 has going on 120,000 miles and not a spec of rust/corrosion on body...
Steel door/tailgate hinges all look as new.
Been thru 7 Virginia treated winter roads with just a few surface rust spots on frame that I try to take care of....rust remover/paint.....first owner took care prior to me.

Not saying aluminum won't corrode, it will...it oxidizes.....but it will not rust.....

We were Ford’s experiment on how to keep paint on Aluminum. I hope they learned from the first three generations. The 18+ have a complete aluminum body.
