My truck needs catalytic converters so I'm planning on deleting the Pre-Cats and having some Magnaflow 94306 Cats put in. I figure "while I'm in there" i'll have a flowmaster muffler put in.

Does anyone have a part number handy on which muffler I need for the job? I know its the 2.5" muffler I need but a part number would be helpul as they have different intake/exit mufflers available.

Also, my truck is a 2006, am I correct in my research that deleting the pre-cats will not throw a CEL?

If you're open to other brands of muffler, you should consider Borla. All stainless steel construction, million mile warranty. Flow better than a flowmaster, and sound better (imo). 40352 is the part number I used. I can't offer any insight on the pre cats. But i have a feeling that it might set the CEL, as less catalyzing will be done before the exhaust hits the main cats.

My choice is Magna Flow. the aggressive magna flow muffler (part#12256) is loud but not too loud. you could hear me come down the road if I step on it. brings out the headers that's a fact..

Y don't you just install the magna flow cat system that's what I have on my 06 Exp.
