As I've mentioned before I just picked up a 99 EB Expy and it needs tires bad. It has the stock 16s on it and I'm not ready to upgrade the rims just yet. It calls for 255/70s but what's a safe comparable size if I want to go wider?

My Expy came with 255's and when Ford had the Firestone issue I changed to 265's and now I am now running Michelin 275/70-16's.
With the 275's my speedo reads about 2-3 mph low at 65mph.
The 275's are noticeably heavier and create more suspension bounce with all that unsprung weight. I use mine as a touring vehicle not off-road.
My preference was the 265's.

I've got 285/75/16 on the stock 16x7 wheels. No lift needed; no trimming and no rubbing.
