Grr... a rock hit the very upper corner of my windsheild about a week ago, and now the crack has spread all the way to the middle. Definitely going to to have to get a new one, just why did it have to happen around christmas when I have no savings.

I have had to replace quite a few with my last truck. All I did was find someone in the phone book, and they come to you. There are tons of 'em, and they all usually work with your insurance company.

In terms of which specific company, I can't help there, sorry.

Same sort of crack happened on mine. I guess a rock had hit near the upper edge of the windshield and I had not noticed it.

I was washing the car on a hot day and as I brought the sprayer onto the winshield a crack came shooting down to the middle of the windshield.
Bummed b/c I should have caught the nick and prevented the crack, and two, should have known better than to wash the windows in the hot sun.
Can't decide if I should replace or wait for the next rock.l

Mine happened on vacation in Nags Head, NC this year. I came back from a fishing trip and it was fine. A couple of hours later I went to make a beer run and noticed a 2 foot crack about 2 feet down from the top on the drivers side. I was pissed. I did notice a pin sized chip right by the edge of the window where the crack started. It was about 85 degs that day, must of been the heat.
I have a $200 deductable and I can go to any Glass replacement co. I was going to get a new one for xmas, but got Halo Projector headlights and Euro tail lights instead. BTW they are super cool!!

$145? Who did you use? I had a star chip happen last week and SafeLite came out and fixed it. The insurance (Allstate) has a $0 deductible policy on that, but for for a replacement it's $250. My civic has a crack all the way down the bottom, and I want to get it fixed cheap like $145. Let me know Smooth....

I just used a local shop. They were called States Auto Glass, but I doubt they are a chain. Just look up all the shops in your area on yellowpages.com, and call each one asking for a price quote, then go with the cheapest one.
