For those of you who have received your 2022 Expy with the 15” screen, can you please post your reviews and opinions on it? Do you miss the physical buttons, etc.? Thanks.

I just read one on facebook that said it froze up and the person had no AC, and was in 90* temps and it kept locking up and was pretty much useless. Maybe its just the one, but its out there!

I'm one who thought I would miss the physical buttons. But after using it it's really not that bad and very intuitive. Resolution is great. Love the large camera views when parking and reversing. Love having the top view and rear view at the same time.

On 2 occasions it failed to turn on. Completely blank. I drove for 20 miles one time and it never came on. Had to stop and completely shut down the vehicle

now, the last settings remained and I could adjust the volume. Steering wheel controls worked. both times

My wife’s Explorer, my buddy’s Ram, and my neighbors Acura MDX have done this too. Hell, my iPhone goes bonkers on the regular. Power cycle and we’re good to go.

the screen is awesome. Smooth to operate. It’s a little overwhelming and extra but I dig it.

Only had the Timberline for 5 days but love it! Initially thought it was bulky and worried about having to search menus for options but after 5 days I wouldn't go back. Its intuitive and is a huge improvement.

Close to a month now with mine and really like it so far. It took a few days to figure out how to use everything and once that was done I was able to enjoy it. Apple car play is great on the bigger screen (really nice for the maps). No tech issues so far with mine, but am only driving it a few times a week due to a hybrid office/remote work schedule. We'll be taking our first cross country trip with it in about 6 weeks and that will be a great opportunity to form a solid opinion on it.

Test drove one and it is a nightmare to use while driving. Having to go through two or three screens to get to something that is simple with a physical button on other trims is a huge distraction and safety issue.

They really want you to use voice for everything

With more options comes more screens and with copilot360 I'm not as worried about having to push an extra button to get where you need to go safely. I feel as though the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

A nightmare? What were you trying to do that was so difficult?

How difficult is it to get to the camera? I have a 2020 Expedition now so I have a physical button to turn on the camera. I use the 360 camera often when parking. I test drove a 22 with the 12” Sync 4 screen and I couldn’t easily get to the camera which I found annoying. I did end up ordering the 22 303A with the 15” screen, but I’m keeping an eye on my local dealer inventory for one similar.

My ‘22 303A with the 12” screen has a button for the cameras. I believe you have to menu dive on the 15”.

When parking the front/rear and 360 view automatically pops up. Depending on whether you're backing or pulling in. The screen is able to show both views at the same time due to its size.

Ok I must have missed it because I was looking for an actual button like my 20 has or the 21 F150.

It does have an actual button. It’s below the screen right next to the traction control button. The 15” obviously doesn’t have physical buttons. The only time the cameras come up automatically is when in reverse or when the front sensors start to beep. I use the button constantly when parking. I couldn’t give that shortcut up. Not to mention I didn’t like multiple gestures for heated/cooled seats on the 15”.

Both screens show the two camera views at once. 15” probably has a slight advantage due to size. But I actually prefer the 12” for CarPlay as you can have Google Maps full screen and the CarPlay audio on the side tile.

I believe that you need to push the top left icon of the Expedition. It will bring up a menu system. I have only had mine for 24 hours, but I think it defaults to cameras.

If not, you push CONTROLS and then CAMERA(S).

I really like the big screen. I think it looks great and sync 4a is a huge improvement over the version that was in my 2019 expedition. I picked up everything quickly - actually felt very comfortable with it by the time I got home from the dealership. Not being able to quickly turn on the front camera is probably the biggest loss in changing to the full screen. Losing the ability to change ambient light color is also a bit annoying, but I am guessing that is not specific to the 15" screen?

As far as glitches go... I've had a few. Again, not sure if this is because of the big screen or not, but so far the following has happened..
- Screen completely turned off while I was driving
- Volume turned itself up all the way and would not allow me to turn it down until I shut off the car
- Heat turned all the way up by itself, but it did allow me to then turn it back down
- Had a very loud screeching sound coming from all speakers which I could not get to stop (see post - Total Meltdown)

Each of these have only happened once. I did have it to the dealership, specifically because of the last one listed, but they were not able to find anything. I won't say they don't make me a little nervous of a bigger issue looming, but overall love the vehicle and entertainment system.

I have had no real problems with the screen. The only thing I see is the boot up time if the car has been off for a while can make it laggy but once it catches up after a minute or so it runs smoothly. Other than that it has been good.
