TOW package verification

Hi all,

I am currently shopping for a 3rd generation expedition and was wondering if anyone on here could verify what tow package the ones I am looking at have the HD tow package. I understand that I am limited to 6000 lbs without the heavy duty tow package. I would like to be able to tow 8000 lbs. Here are some VINs of expeditions I am looking at... Thanks for any help!

You can register on Ford ETIS as an independent service provider and look up all the spec sheets you want without spending any money!

BUT, since I'm already registered I looked these up for you.

HD Tow shows up under Minor Features on the 3rd-gen exactly as I have it up there, "With Heavy Duty Trailer Towing" so you can search on the page to find it, because the Minor Features section is in no particular order, and not at all organized. It's kind of a pain.

Also, you can identify the HD Tow Package pretty easily, the factory-installed 7-pin trailer connector is only present on Expeditions with the HD Tow Package. It's also included in the Limited and King Ranch trim levels, according to the 2012 brochure.

Yeah it comes and goes. Also, the window sticker won’t always show the HD tow package (mine doesn’t) because it’s included as standard in the higher trim levels. Easiest for me to just look it up in ETIS.

Wow! This is awesome. Thanks for posting. We bought a 'pre-loved' 2014 LE and of course, didn't get the window sticker. I just printed it out so when we sell it 15-20 years from now, the new owner will have it.
