I have one for sale, I sold my expedition and no longer need it. Its in great shape, as you can see in the pic. I may have the box still I will look and see if I can find it. $300 shipped. Any questions pm me. Thanks.
I've never heard of a fuse blown not being able to pull codes but ok I guess it could happen... I use coke to clean my batteries and cables in a pinch, the soda neutralizes all the battery acid and stuff that builds up from time to time. Check to make sure the connections are all tight on the...
I would think its got to be throwing codes at this point. I would take it to autozone and borrow their code reader. If the check engine light is going on and off its got to have a code. If the cats are clogged this should also show up on code.
Yes the battery could be going bad and causing those symptoms. Its a crapshoot on replacement alternators. I had one go bad on another vehicle after only 5 months so it really depends. Arent Expeditions fun?
As a last resort you can take it to the dealership and have them run diagnostics. Thats the only way you will know for sure which (if any) coils are going bad and what other problems there are.
Edit: Thats a good call on the alternator Nas1, with the electrical issues that could be the cause.
Oh I know its not cheap thats for sure. However I am going with personal experience replacing the coils all at once. I had 3 coil packs go bad at different times within 3 months. Once I was able to get home and do the repair myself. The other two I was out of town, once had to have it towed...
Also if there is a coil pack going bad, it is going to go bad and will misfire at the worst possible time. I know this from personal experience. The only real solution is to replace them all. They tend to go bad around the same time, and replace all the plugs as well. There is a chance that...
If you are towing I recommend the air lift coil spring helpers. They are bags that go inside the rear coils that take away trailer hop, I've been using them for years. Also depending on mileage, I'd replace the coil springs. I also have rancho 9000 adjustables and they are fantastic as well.
Try cleaning the throttle body, or it could be the idle air control valve. Mine was the throttle body dirty. But I just read on another thread that the idle air control valve can also cause problems.
That equates to a tire size of 34 1/2 inches. I have personally had no problems with my body lift, and I've done some pretty heavy off roading, alot in the desert over rocky terrain. Didnt break any of the bushings, I did however break the front sway bar mount. I had a 4x4 shop do mine and he...
The only way to know for sure is to drop the pan and take a look. If you are leaking bad enough that someone noticed you should be able to see it when you drop it.
Not sure what size tire you are trying to put on. If they are 35's you are going to have to use a 3 inch body lift minimum. Dont know what your budget is but I bought my kit for 185 (this was 4 years ago) and paid someone to do it but you can do it yourself. I still get a bit of rub even with...
I have them on my truck but mine are 35's. They were expensive but I couldnt find another tire that had a 40k mile tread warranty on them that had such an aggresive tread. I had these when the snowstorms hit the east coast and was plowing through 3 feet of snow with superior grip. I never got...
I have the same problem. For some reason mine switches from the vents to the defrost when I'm on the gas at about 50 mph or higher and then when I get to cruising speed it will blow out of the vents again. I have no idea why it does this. If I go to pass and get on the throttle it will do the...
IMHO it looks ridiculous. I did the 3 inch body lift and had the stock tires on after. The body lift on really stood out, and it looked disproportionate. I had already bought 35's and I put them on asap. It looked much better.
I have 20k on mine, and love them. They do tend to get out of balance so rotation and balance every 4k or so is good. I tow with mine and love them. Of all the tires I've put on I like these the best. Superior off road traction in the mud and snow.
If you really want to speed up the process, invest in a set of wobble extensions. Harbor Freight has them pretty cheap. They make the job a whole lot easier.
Its fairly easy to change. Unbolt the coil, disconnect it, pull it out and pull the plug. If you keep driving it you always run the risk of something catostrophic, such as early detonation or blowing the plug out or some other form of damage that will be way more expensive to replace. After...
