Fuse Box 3L1Z-14A068-AA

Yesterday, actually...
Installed a new Fuse Box.
Was having the exact symptoms described in these two threads
http://www.expeditionforum.com/f39/2003-5-4-cranks-but-wont-start-7236/
http://www.expeditionforum.com/f16/expy-wont-crank-buzzing-sound-3436/

Expy has about 163k miles, which looks like it's right in the range of where people were having trouble.
Ordered from group1autoparts.com | Genuine OEM Parts Direct They have about the same prices as tasca, but they're in OKC, so I paid less for shipping.

Ford p/n 3L1Z-14A068-AA Make sure you order this part number. Don't use the engineering number found on the part itself!

First pic is the new part. Second pic is the old one. Third pic is old PCB showing area of failure.

All you have to do is get the 99-02/03 front bumper and it will fit just fine. Lots of people do that swap. IMO the flat 97-98 grill/bumper looks better and you don't see as many of them. Just me though. Its your truck. Make it your way! But most yards only charge around $50 for the 99-02 bumpers. Post some pics when you're done.

I seriously thought about swapping bumpers. But I saw a '97/'98 f-150 not long ago that put the new grille in. Looked pretty badass! The larger opening with the flat heavy bumper made it look mean.
I'll post pics. Should be a fun retrofit/challenge.

So was there a gap between the lower portion of the grill and and the bumper under each headlight? where the grill curves down but the bumper doesnt. I'd be curious to see what it looks like. I'd love to see it when it's done!

Took Expy to dealer for "TSB 08-22-7 driveline bump while braking." Took a little over an hour. She's running much better and no bump while braking! Seems like that was the fix!
