I seem to have an issue with a door sensor or something. 90% of the time I get in the truck, it says I have a door ajar and all the interior lights stay on. Not a big deal during the day, but makes it hard to see at night. I've tried to narrow it down to which door it may be coming from, but no luck there. Help please! As always, everything is appreciated. TIA.

Wicked easy fix. spray WD 40 into your door latches and open and close the doors a few times. The switch for the light is attached to the latch and this trick will work 90% of the time. I do it as a preventative maintenance to both of my Fords

Thanks! I'll give it a shot. Do you do it on the rear and the rear window too?

if that doesnt work its time to play with the bundles of wire going into the driver door. my door ajar light is for rear hatch i replaced it and still on, went to ford talked to one of the mechanics and he said that all those stupid sensor wires for all doors end up going into driver door, he said stupid idea too many wires all bundled and it causes them to rub bad and then you get the light. i tried wd40 with no luck so do as i did if it doesnt work and pull the fuse... lights still work when you manually turn them on just not when you open a door

Which fuse do you pull? Does it only affect the door ajar chime and lights? I have the same problem on a 2003, happens intermittently, not sure which door is causing it. Going to try the WD-40 trick first, hope that works.

If it is a wire, is there a place to take a look at the wires and see if there is one that is getting stripped or damaged?

Thanks a million,

Daren
