FREEWAY, I'm not sure if I follow what you're saying. The 2007 and up 3rd gens have the same basic dash/console setup as the one pictured. The piece the integrated brake unit is mounted in is actually a piece that is on all 3rd gens. (see pic below) My question was if it will work with any 2007 and up ( prior to 2013 ) by just replacing that piece and plugging it in to the factory trailer brake plug under the dash.

my bad...didnt realize this was 3rd gen thread

Still hoping for the eco boost engine. I talked to a friend at work and he has a crew cab 4wd and gets 22mpg at 75 mph. My EL gets 17.

If you read between the lines in that article, I think the Expedition we all know and love is going by by unless they keep it on the same platform as the Navi. I've heard rumors that all Ford suv's are going to be unibody platforms.

I can't see Ford taking the Expedition off the body-on-frame platform. The Explorer is large enough to meet the CUV needs. Ford will have to keep the Expedition to meet the towing/heavy duty needs.

And I am shocked that they are expecting a new Expedition this year. I would have guessed one to two years away still for the update.

If the Expy goes unibody then I go by-by....

I want body on frame, I want 6.2L. Neither of those? I go shop elsewhere.

I AM hopefull...From what I have read Ford sells more Expeditions in Tx than most of the other states combined. My guess is that it is a popular tow rig. For that, you want the 6.2L and a HD frame... I have my fingers crossed.

My luck it will have the 6.2L and a full frame but be so butt-ass ugly that I will be repulsed by it....

anybody find out anything more about adding the electronic brake control? I'd love to get rid of my aftermarket hanging from the bottom of dash. Funny thing is, I was trying to figure out a way to custom cut that panel and mount my controller there!

Should be easy to cut in...there is nothing behind that panel...you can tuck all sorts of goodies up there.....you should be able to mock in some cubby of sorts or just a slot.

......I'm still hoping for towing mirrors. Hopefully, the next generation Expeditions will keep the same door design so if Ford does release towing mirrors, I cam get some for my truck.

You want towing mirrors? So did I......found these referenced on a forum somewhere. I know they are not the stock towing mirrors we would probably like to have that the F series has and the Excursion had, but these may be the next best thing. Got them....tried them......worked flawlessly. You can operate your stock mirror with them installed. Check it out!

I do too.....and if the Excursion were still made, I'd have them today. But these are the only ones I could find that would work. And they don't vibrate as much as others have used on my previous Expedition. I have to have something for my RV. If we didn't have periodic need of a 3rd seat, a 250 I would have.

Eddiemoney, thanks for the reply... But I'm actually looking to see if anyone has part number and/or has actually done the retrofit? My aftermarket unit (can't recall brand right now, it was pricey, all digital, pretty cool) is too long to fit in there. I think when I first got the truck I DID mess around and kind of "test fit" it. Was just looking for an update...
