Can an ABS system from an Escalade be transferred to an Expedition? I have a 1999 Expedition and I'm trying to find out if this can be done? my mechanic thinks it can, but I'm just asking

How deep are your pockets. Anything CAN be done, if you got the money. Would I do it? Not in a million years. Even if I had the money. Why do you want to trade out the ABS?

I don't have the Escalade wiring diagram to compare to the Fords. But a few things pop up while looking at the Ford diagram.
1) Wheel sensors - most likely different - don't know if they have the same signals
2) Ford ABS connects to the GEM. Don't know what is being sent over the wire.
3) Other sensors that may be different between the two - brake switches, fluid level indicators etc.
4) Connections to the instrument cluster. Don't know what is being communicated between the cluster and the abs module.
5) ABS modules are probably different, custom brake lines & wiring harness
6) Liability issues - what happens if it fails and someone is killed. You end up holding the bag.

Nice to kick around the idea as a "what if" but I wouldn't touch that with a 10' pole.

I just don't see what the benefit would be . You have a better chance of switching out to a 2nd or 3rd generation Expy
