Went for a short drive today...

Just hit a milestone today. I'm real proud of her for holding up so well for so long. 300,000 miles is a lot of miles!

Sorry I'm a bit late to the game. I have a 2003 XLT with 422K+. Same engine, 1 rebuilt transmission, and 5 alternators.

My engine seized a couple days ago right after it hit 160,000 miles
Edit to say the engine was maintained perfectly and failure was not due to any kind of neglect. I bought it brand new from the dealership. This will be my last Ford.

Just out of curiosity, what oil were you running?
I have seen a number of seizure issues on modular engines from owners using the wrong oil (too heavy).
The oil passages to the top end are pretty small and do not allow for proper lubrication when too high of viscosity is used. Can't say I have seen an issue when the factory recommended oil is used.
