It runs like it's new. I just put my second set of Motorcraft plugs in along with new front struts and new Sway Bar bushings front and rear.
I do have the ticking not sure what that is. I have looked at everything. I did have to put a new cam and phaser on the passenger side so I went ahead and did both sides. All and all this is a great vehicle!


Oh, one other important thing I have done all along is used motorkote. We use it in everything that has a motor. My mechanic is amazed at how tight and clean my engine is after all these miles. They now offer it at his shop. I only wish I had serviced my transmission early on. I'm past the point where I can do it now. I have never serviced it and it is still running like a champ.

My '02 XLT AWD just turned 180K miles.... normal fixins--ball joints, rods, alt, etc..... just have a pesky consistent low heat...gets cooler as outside temps drop...and gotta do the 'brown wire mod'... otherwise she has been great....we do syn oil changes at 4k-4.5k

1997 Triton v8 5.4L 2x4, odometer stopped working a year ago at 336,502 or something near that. Has probably 350k miles on it by now.

Odometer on my 01 Expy flashes on periodically (short in the LED). The last I saw it had 218,600 and some change. Still going strong.

I have to add that they are mostly Highway miles... Love this vehicle., and I have had every model year.

How?

I now have 282401.....I just drive a lot.....I use mobile 1 with motorkote. I've been using this combination since 5000 miles. It's still running like it's new mechanics are amazed that I have this many miles and it's running this well. I just had the plugs changed again and the compression is like a new engine....
