best replacement LED bulbs for tailights, license plate, reverse lights, and side view mirror. And what is this CANBUS free thing I hear about with an error code associated with LEDs if anyone knows? Thanks all

I replaced all mine with bulbs from Diode Dynamics and I'm very happy with them. You will also have to install the inline resistors to correct the fast-flash on the blinkers. If you have any questions, call Diode Dynamics. They have great tech support.

Diode dynamic, Morimoto or Acme are the way to go in my opinion. Also depending on the year of you expy you can disable fast flash with Forscan. I have an 07 so I could only disable the rear fast flash and still had to install resisters for the front

Whats "fast flash"?
Basically your blinkers flash fast when you have a bulb blown. They have The same effect with led bulbs due to the resistance differences between and led and incandescent bulb. Typically you can install resistors to make the car think everything is fine but with newer models they are computer controlled so by changing the program it's will blink normal

I had a different set for reverse but they looked to be the same size...side marker is on aftermarket headlights but i think the socket itself is original

Hi,

For rear turn signal/tail lights I used these and really like them:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019J59BV0

These are VERY bright for backup lights:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K3GBRQ2

For headlights I put these in:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JFXUWSC which are pretty good.
I then found these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DYS1GIY are AWESOME!
These EXACTLY match the halogen beam pattern. No adjustment required
and nice even light pattern!

YMMV (and your illumination.)

Started this morning with the license plate bulbs. Pilot LEDs are what I found. Great fitment, very snug in the housing and definitely have a noticeable difference over OEM as seen here. Now I need to find the correct sized hex head screw driver to remove the tail lightsIMG_3163.JPG

Not hex head (AKA Allen), they're Torx. Get one of the multi-tip tools at Home Depot.

The bolts are officially one or the other but both these fit (just now) T15 and T20. I bought a dedicated driver a few years ago but it's buried in my tools somewhere.

Fast Flash can be corrected via Forscan.

Not sure if that will mess with the trailer settings though. I'd not towed my lil' trailer with the '17 and when I hooked up last evening the dash displayed a message that the left trailer turn signal was out. Sure enough it was! It was also rusted into the socket so it took a while to change. I may yet change these to LED.

And is that something that you plug the sensor into obd2 and turn it off and then unplug or do you have to keep the obd2 wifi sensor attached permanently

Plugs into the obd2. Read codes, make changes to certain electronics in the pcm, bcm, pats and any other system that's supported. Unplug it when your finished

Half the stuff in our Fords is assembled with Torx/Stardrive bolts.

Get a good set of Torx or knockoff drivers, preferably impact rated, if you plan to do anything on your car.

Ive used as small as T8 afair and as large as T55 or T60
