How do I remove the reverse bulb? It also appears that there's only one bulb to access? Any info? What I thought would've been a simple swap to brighter LED lights turned into a bit of a mess. So frustrated. Broke the clip so next is to try and find Ford replacement parts. Pretty sure light will not stay plugged in for long given damage to the clip (crushed with pliers trying to "unlock" the cap.

I know a different generation - but on my 2015 Expedition Limited, the tail lamp bulb SOCKETS were serviced separately and sold individually (no wiring harness or lamp assembly).

You may want to check with a dealer and see if the socket is serviced separately. You could get a new one, then remove damaged one (and look at the new one to see how it fits in the housing opening).

Good luck.

So I'm clearly an idiot; I thought that is the socket? Is there more to remove on that light assembly? Those two bolts in the pic? How do I get to A and B in the manual reference?

Open tailgate, remove rubber trim, remove the bolts and slide the light assembly out to get to the socket. twist and pull out the socket, remove and replace the bulb, plug the socket back in, slide the assembly into place, fasten with the 2 bolts. Make sure you use the proper led bulbs that are CANBUS Error Free or you could get an error and have to use FORScan to fix it.

No, you open the tailgate and can see the rubber pieces on each side. They just pull out, using a trim tool or popsicle type stick to get it to where you can get your fingers under it. Then remove the 2 nuts. It's actually really easy.
Remove tallight assemble for bulb replacement
Yes- The taillight housing needs to be removed to access the bulb. The video confirms what I said

I removed the housing from the vehicle. There are no bulbs. There is a wire harness connector that plugs into the piece I broke in the pic. That's it. No bulbs. Appears to be a sealed, integrated led tail light assembly. I'm calling dealer tomorrow to confirm.

Your Expedition is a 2024. It looks like the entire taillight assembly is LED, hence just the single connector (broken one). It already has LED backup light.
Sadly I think your going to have to replace the entire assembly for that broken connector.

Is your model a 2024 Expedition Platinum? I'm asking because some models have 3 bulb connectors, others 2 and 1 for all the bulbs. My Platinum is older and has all LED lights except the backup and tag lights, which I replaced. But my taillight assembly has a 3-bulb socket. I found your style assembly with one connector, for a 2022 to 2024 Expedition, but it does not specify the model, and it is over $1200. I suggest checking with junk yards. You may get lucky. Greenleaf is a Ford yard that may have a pull cheaper.

It's a 2024 Limited Max SPP; reinstalled the tail light and it still works. Called local Ford dealer this morning and confirmed it is a sealed LED tail light and is "not field serviceable" per the dealer.

I was looking to do the same on a new-to-us 2023 Stealth Max Limited. Much to my disappointment, regardless of what the internet says, "The 2022-2024 models typically use a 3157 bulb." This appears not to be true. The back of my tailight assembly is an exact match to the OP's and does not look serviceable. YUK!!

Maybe you already have led bulbs? Did you remove the rubber cover and housing to see if there are replaceable bulbs or not?

Mr. Big, I highly suspect they are LED's. The only rubber cover in the vicinity of the reverse light is the little blue dot as depicted in the OP's picture. It appears that everything else on that assembly is molded. The two screws on the left of the OP's pic are screws that affix the bracket to the assembly. Unlike on the 2018, there is no visible wired socket for the reverse light. Kindly let me know if you think I missed something.

I just saw where the OP said it is a 2024 Limited Max. With that said, it is all LED. The higher end models like Limited, King Ranch, Platinum, etc., usually have all LED taillights. This usually holds true for 2022 and 2023 Expeditions as well.

It looks like the one I punched a hole in one night. They are sealed and real pricey! Ford wants over 1K for one. They are I believe repairable as there is a market for damaged ones. I haven't a clue who does repair them though.

Ebay has some aftermarket ones cheaper.

A little off topic - but I recently replaced the right, outboard tailamp assembly on my wife’s 2014 Impala 2LTZ (new model) because it had water in the lens (no accident).

The new GM assembly listed for $399, but I was able to buy it at 10% over dealer cost as a friend works as a parts manager for a Chevrolet dealership. The lamp came with new bulbs (not LED) and an attached body gasket.

GM charged a $50 core for the lamp assembly, and I returned the old one after installation. My buddy said GM is now charging for lamp assembly cores and he is not sure why - other than to keep them from being repaired and resold?

I asked if the lamp would have been smashed due to an accident, what does GM want back? He said they are required to obtain whatever pieces are left and return them in the original lamp assembly shipping box.
