PICK THIS ONE UP FROM A BUDDY FOR $700
It's a 97 XLT 5.4
THE ORIGINAL OWNER SAID IT WAS AN E/B BUT I THINK IT WAS AN XLT WITH UPGRADES. I DON'T SEE ANY EMBLEMS OR E/B ON THE PAPER WORK, ANY THOUGHTS?
So far I repaired the following
1. removed the air suspension to shocks, the pass airbag was flat (both airbags removed
2. front pass ball joint and shock damaged so both front shocks were replaced
next on the list is:
1. NEW TIRES < I want to put the biggest tire on my stock rim that will fit with no problem, I won't be towing but will be driving to the lake and the beach this summer so it will be packed..
2. transmission tune up - DONE
3. engine tune up - DONE
4. get to the bottom of what is making a small buzzing sound when i first accelerate and when i put in in reverse. Hopefully it isn't something bad. I have driven it and it has power and the tranny shift good. I suspect it's some type of pump
Took it to a mechanic and it might be the tranny perhaps a bad solenoid, i scheduled a diagnostic and I will know once and for all
I want to get that gloss as pictured here, the rest of the paint job is dull but no dry spots...
