As I said before if you don’t have any help to offer why don’t you just keep on scrolling. You can take your *******-ishness elsewhere because I don’t need it. As far as the trade being the problem you can shove it-it didn’t create any negative equity because the loan was a wash. The fact of the matter is yes, I have had three vehicles that are actively leaking water. I have video proof of this as well as a dealership who was able to see it themselves and are also backing me up with Ford. Like I said, if you’re not here to offer help take your playground bullying elsewhere, it’s not going to hurt my feelings and you’re just making yourself look like an ass.

What did you resolve?

I also have a water leak in my 2017. Every time it rains the driver side carpet is soaked to the point I can fill up my small shop vac cleaning it up. We bought it used and didn’t discover the leak until 38,000 miles so the dealer won’t cover anything under warranty. No sunroof and have spent 500 at dealer replacing driver window seal. Anyone else have a fix?

No sunroof? You have to check that out using the system in the shop manual. Get inside and have someone outside hose the thing starting low and working his way up the car. A little patience and you'll find the leak.

You may want to try the outside cowl vents under the wipers first and eliminate the heater box drain if the water's in the front seat well. The drain hose from the heater box being clogged is a typical culprit. If it's not dripping water on the driveway when the a/c is running, that would be another indication. Find the hose outlet and blow out the rotten leaves and mud.

Welcome KyleJ.

I have a 2015 Expedition Limited 4x4.

Check the rubber accordion conduit that runs between the LF door and the A pillar - by the door hinges. The end is a press-fit into the body opening. See if the conduit it properly seated properly, and there are no tears in the accordion (which may require close examination and the spreading of the folds).

Remove the LF scuff panel (pulls up - held on by clips), and then remove the LF kick panel (alongside the parking brake foot pedal).

Have someone run water on the outside of the LF with a hose, and closely examine the uncovered areas with a flashlight while the door is closed.

I suspect you’ll find the leak. Good luck.

My 2015 EL doesn’t leak a drop anywhere and it’s seen some nasty weather. Wish I could help. Do keep this thread updated with fixes for the rest.

If I find the answer I plan on posting it. The person who started the post never posted a resolution....

Im just sad because I had a 1988 suburban and a 2001 suburban LT(with a power sunroof) with zero leaks at all in either. I sold the 88 at 380,000 miles and I traded the 01 in at 195,000 miles for this expedition. . . .I guess I just got unlucky with this Ford. I bought it used past 36,000 miles. So any warranty that would cover water leaks is over.....

A leak is a very minor problem. Just take the trouble to find it and the fix will take ten minutes. It's more trouble sopping up the water than fixing the leak once you locate it.

"Unlucky" because you got a Ford with a leak? Geez... Expeditions used to blow spark plugs through the hood. Save some complaining for when that happens, spend ten minutes and find the leak.

Is that what I'm in for with a Ford?

Also check the donut-shaped rubber gasket that is on the plastic door-check strap. When the door is closed, it compresses against the A pillar, to prevent water leaks into the strap’s opening in the A pillar (which also has a foam gasket inside the A pillar).

How would that explain the wet headliner above and behind the passenger rear door? I'm gonna have to remove the headliner in order to track down this leak..........and air pressure has nothing to do with this leak either, since I first noticed the water after the truck had been parked for a week in dry weather and the leak was noticed after 1 day of moderate rain:(

Since the water seems to be entering somewhere in the windshield area, you can try what I did on my 03 Expy. I found where the windshield seal meets the other side, then carefully removed the old seal being very careful because I was putting it back! Next, I emptied 5 full tubes of silicone caulk all around the windshield, especially around the door pillars and top into the roof space to the seams. I reinstalled the seal and no more water pouring from the headliner!

I have 49,700 on my '17 and thankfully, it hasn't leaked a drop.

The only wet part of my headliner is behind the passenger rear door.......at a point higher than the windshield.......there is another member here that has water leaking into his driver floorboard though.

For the person who has a wet driver's side floor, this can come from the upper corner of the windshield (less likely) or from the top portion of the door weatherstrip (most likely).

Open the door and carefully pull the surrounding weatherstrip off. You will find it has metal embedded inside that helps it hold it's shape. The weatherstrip has to pinch itself closed around the metal "pinch strip" that surrounds the door opening. If this metal inside the weatherstrip gets "spread" (which can happen when pulling it off) it may cause a leak.

Go along the entire weatherstrip and make sure it is uniformly "pinched" so the opening that grips the metal is consistent and does not have any "wide" spots. Then, carefully reinstall. This might solve your leak.

In our area, each Fall we get a swarm of bugs looking for a hiding place to spend the Winter. Some of these are quite large (stink bugs) and I often find them wedged around the door weatherstripping. Even that can be enough to cause a small leak.

And for the person who said a leak is a "minor problem," well that is not the case when it causes MOLD. This can be a major health hazard and it can cost a lot of money to treat the inside of the car in an attempt to remove it. Then, you are never sure it won't come back. So, maybe a leak might be looked at as a minor issue -- but it can have major consequences!

Just joined to add my 2017 Expedition had water coming out of the driver side rear air vent today. Was after last night's rain storm. Joy.

EDIT: Bought it used nearly a month ago. It has downpoured since then and I hadn't seen this issue before. There are videos on youtube pointing to blocked drain lines as the culprit. Beginning to wish it didn't have the sunroof. :(

FWIW it's still under warranty.

For those '17 owners who have this problem, what is the date of manufacture of your Expedition?

I'm wondering if this could be a result some numbnut on the assembly line doing his thing wrong for an hour or two (or more).
