It was at Maritime Plaza, just east of the Navy Yard. And it was an obvious commuter battlewagon....something a like a 1983 Chevy Luv truck with no shiny spots or undented body panels.

It was one of those cars you look at and say "I ain't parking near him". Alas, I was there before him.

Funny post, but you can't pop hoods this way, unless its a 1977 Monte Carlo or 1980 Elcamino.
Oh yes you can. That is why I bothered to mention that people think they are secure but that inner Hood pop is just for convenience and little bit of protection like in the old days and people like to mess with people's cars by popping out the rotor button since it was so easy to lift off the distributor cap.
As someone has already mentioned, many you can reach with a longer screwdriver right from the front of the grill and pop them open but almost all of them you can lay on the ground and reach your arm up and pop them right open. All you have to do is use your finger or thumb and move the little metal piece at the end that the cable hooks into. You can see the cable going right into it. All the cable does is pull on it. You can pull it just the same with your finger.
I could make you a list of all the ones I've popped open but I've done so many I forgotten.

Looks like it was a 2005-2011 Toyota Tacoma based on the photo. Glad no damage occurred to your truck.

Maybe you should have looked for a passerbyer walking their dog looking to get rid of a poop bag. Could have left that gift for him on his hood, or better yet tied to his door handle LOL.

Personally I keep a quart of extra strength paint stripper for just a situation. Like Donald Sutherland said in Kelly's hero's, it paints such a pretty picture man!

Dang, you guys are vengeful.....btw, older type 3 brake fluid is one of the best paint removers around and from what I've seen, ruins the metal for repainting till it's all been sanded off. Shoots well from a kids squirtgun............but make sure it doesn't cause it to melt. Some of the cheap plastics used to be melted by brake fluid.

I had a sphincter muscle think they were funny when I parked my Z28 in the back of a lot quite a few years ago. I was in a normal space, not even sideways etc. They parked within two inches of my driver door. They came out to find a shopping cart hooked under their windshield wipers on their hood... I was in a nice mood that day lucky for them.

Hawk, should have tied a chain around pole to rear differential, like in American graffiti. When he pulled out, betcha he'd never do that one again.

A $2 tool is all it takes to remove all the valve stem cores, and doesn't cause any permanent damage, but sure makes it hard to drive!

I like. It's still criminal damage if you get caught but if I pissed someone off and they were to take action I would rather than do this than key car or damage paint or destroy tires.

Classic scene. Cops didn't even know what hit them lol. The tulips that are ignorant enough to park the way they do probably would even know why someone did it...
I like the valve stem removal idea, but personally I'd like to use side cutters when they're ignorant enough to not respect someone else's property to these degrees. I know, I know, "eye for an eye makes the whole world blind"... That's why God gave us Lasik surgery lol Libs can stuff it. Being too PC is what's gotten us into this societal mess.

This fits into the category of what I call Bubba Justice. Legal or not, when people take matters into their own hands a little bit could be a good thing. Same as road rage. It makes people aware that they can't hide behind laws and that some people just don't care if you cross certain lines.
And I thought I was about the only one left or my small circle of local friends that think this way. Nice to see I'm not the only one.

Shit like this really irritates me.

Last year I was sitting in the parking lot at Sam's Club while my wife ran in for a few things. This lady parks next to me, hubby gets out of the passenger side and WHAM - nails my wife's door (really hard) and leaves a significant dent in it. I sat there with my mouth hanging open as he just closes his door and walks away. Now her car was totaled a couple years ago, so another dent doesn't really matter. What pissed me off though is that he had zero concern that he did it even with me sitting in the driver's seat with the window down. Twenty years ago I would have gotten out and punched him in the face without hesitation, but as you get older you realize it's best to take a breath and think before you lose your shit. So I took a breath, sat there until the Mrs came out, and left him a reminder of what an ******* he is before I left.

As you get older you also learn to play the game better. While I would love to kick some people's *****, that makes me the bad guy and then I get in more trouble than them. I do work for insurance companies and take pictures of small damage like that. There's tons of fraud but when something like this occurs you simply make a claim and on the small dollar ones the insurance companies gladly pay just to make it go away.
I did want a while back where someone get a car with one of the orange cards in the Home Depot parking lot. Made a much nicer scrape and dent in the average grocery store cart.

Remember robbing a 7-11 or a bank carries the same punishment. We here on the forum talk with iPhone/ computer cajones. We never actually go through with the threats, but who knows. Piss someone off bad enough, and their personal situation is bad enough, well you know the rest.
