Hi there, new to the forum.

I picked up a used 2018 Max Platinum with 20k on the odom a month ago. Took it in for a service and they noticed an oil leak and proceed with diagnosis. At first it was just rear main seal. But yesterday they said the torque converter and the front pump are in need of replacing. 2-3 weeks for parts, covered under warranty.

I am baffled at how this could have happened... anyone heard of all of these components replaced at this early stage of ownership? Any suggestions what else to look for while the everything is taken apart?

Thanks.

No suggestions - but 2-3 weeks for parts to arrive? That’s terrible.

That's really outrageous for parts availability. If there was an issue with the convertor or flex plate there could be problems with the seals and pump. Good luck!

Make sure they check the muffler bearings while they are under there. Mine needed greasing at 15K.

I had my rear main seal and a couple cooler hoses that were leaking. Parts for both were backorder at least a month. Rear seal is a big job as they need to drop the tranny. My fear was that once you crack it open it is never the same. I do feel (seat of the pants feeling) that now since its back together there are some "oddities" in the tranny. They did this job around 60,000 kms.
