Update all versions of Ford Sync 3 to the latest Sync 3.4

Mac Users note that you need to pay special attention to format with a scheme MBR or the USBs won't be found. The documentation on Cyan Labs doesn't reference Macs very well.

After getting the formatting right, everything went smoothly for me!

Install went perfectly today. Used the short cut method (see post 144) and the actual install was complete in about 10 minutes. A big shout out to Expeditiondriver for the guidance.

Maybe I did....could not load map after 3.4 upgrade. could do latest app version but map install gives me Map_err_003.....

Any idea?

so for now all works except map is "bricked"....

Reboot 2 times in a row. Did you follow the CyanLabs instructions?

Bricked means it won’t boot at all.

I know of ZERO who have bricked that did not attempt the Firmware. Everyone I know that did was because of attempting the firmware and not knowing what they were doing...

Thinking about finally doing the update today, we'll see. Got a pork butt smoking for several more hours and I need something to do.

I've seen references to different themes/colors in 3.4. Is this correct or is the only option the plain white display I've been seeing (unless messing with the APIM to go to the Lincoln version)?

There are 4 texture backgrounds you can choose from with out using Forscan. You can enter maintenance mode to switch Themes and try them. In order for them to stick between startups you need to use FORSCAN.

19274 Correct? What version of iOS?

Have you rebooted your phone. I have had that happen once or twice since my upgrade(3+ months ago), but it happened periodically before too. If it does, I disconnect my phone, and reboot the phone, no issues for weeks after that and I have CarPlay attached 96% of the time!

I'm running an iPhone 6 Plus. I have rebooted the phone a few times. Of course, Apple didn't push the iOS 13 to 6 users. So I am stuck at 12.4.4. I still haven't tried it with the OE lighting Apple cord yet...And yes I'm running 19274.

I just turned off everything that draws power and ran it on the battery. If my battery were a year older I probably would have hooked up my trickle charger to it.

I am running 3.4 and 19274. Should I keep Auto Updates turned off? I did get a notification through Ford Pass like the rest of us, but have prevented updates due to the 3.4 upgrade. Thanks!

You can keep it turned on, isn’t going to hurt anything. It isn’t going to go backward. Mine is turned on, on both my 17 Expy and 16 Edge. Figured why not.

That Message in FordPass was more like an ad than an actual notice.

Does anyone have the turn by turn navigation using Waze or Maps on an Andriod phone over Bluetooth (not plugged in)? I thought this was supposed to work but it doesn't seem to for me. Also, I noticed after the update I get a message about the wireless charging pad being active when I put my phone on it that I did not get previously.
