I've been using an old Curt from my other SUV with a standard drop, need a new one. I usually just tow a small 5x8 trailer for moving stuff
Thanks

Interested too.
How much drop/rise are people finding they need?
The receiver seems lower on our new 4th Gen vs the 17 3rd Gen.
Just curious what people are finding.

I hate how the Expedition sags so much in the rear with just about any trailer behind it.I have Sumo Springs for the rear but haven't needed to install them. Ford's towing package with the built in sway control works almost perfectly.
Same here. The only way to get around it are the Sumo Springs, to reduce spring travel, or a Weight Distribution hitch, to move some of the trailer weight to the front suspension.I hate how the Expedition sags so much in the rear with just about any trailer behind it.
...It is super loose in the receiver though... Have any of you guys had this problem? Is it because I bought an uber cheap one?
The travel trailer has about a 900lb tongue weight. For that I have an EAZ-lift elite WDH with 1200lb bars, and an aftermarket drop shank from Equalizer. For the utility trailer (and other random trailers), I have one of those cheap adjustable drop shanks that use a couple of pins and cotter keys to change the heights. As for movement, I haven’t had an issue with the trailers, but I do use one with the hitch mounted bike rack and it works great.
I bought me a cheap harbor freight 4 inch drop to pull my 4x8 utility trailer.
