Just remember when you find a deal on these at Flood Ford, they exclude a bunch of coverages that most local dealers include in their price. So Flood Ford has a bunch of add-ons to get everything covered, otherwise you Miss a bunch of coverage. They are often still cheaper, but do compare apples to apples..... They exclude lighting coverage for example, and a LED headlight assembly s probable $1,500+ to replace per side.......

Ive been looking at these....everyone complains about the rentals never being available at the dealers (personally I think its BS....just another item for them to profit on / charging you for something they never supply or have available).

here's the Flood Ford Options:

Those are much higher than I paid for the add ins just a couple months ago. Wow.

the local dealer wanted a grand more than flood and refused to match. Coupled with the 4-5 grand he was higher, it was a no brainer to go out of state. Didn’t even leave my couch for that deal and saved all that. If you get a good deal local and they won’t match flood, just buy the policy from flood later.

pricing could be based on my term/option selected - $50 deductible, 8 yr, 150k mile coverage...'20 etc....I wouldn't get the key service (I can program my own), I wouldn't get the rental / given the complaints ive seen, I would get the lighting coverage.

I went with 8/100. More miles than I’ll have for sure. Prices were maybe half what I’m seeing there.

where did you get better pricing? how long ago?

theres not a lot of risk in a 5yr / 100k policy (given the factory warranty is 5y/60k).
I'm lucky if I put 10k on per yr, but I do tend to hang on to 'em.

I got mine through flood and only added the LED light add-on. 8/125K $100 deductible. Was a little less than $2K. They gave me a rental through enterprise on the first day even though I didn't have the coverage. I guess each dealer is different.

The local dealer was 2X that amount for the same plan.

Here is another fun tip. Once in the extended warranty period, where the deductible applies, wait until you have multiple items needing to be addressed. All repairs will be covered under the same deductible amount.

heres another tip....avoid 3rd parties....or google "Warranty Gold Bankruptcy".

I was a lucky one in that I got my money worth and then some out of WG....before they voided 67k warranties by filing bankruptcy!

Ford protect plan or third party like mastertech?

Ford price matched to flood. I don’t think flood sells a third party plan. Was 1400 with everything but the key coverage. Local guys wanted 2250 without the extra riders. Never buy a third party warranty. Ever. I’m not so sure about ford these days either with the shutdown eating their cash.

Just looked. Enhanced rental was 95 and bulbs were 75. I was stupid for not taking the keys for 80 bucks more.

You got a plan that was 1/2 the price of a flood ford plan?

no, the add on prices were like half what I’m thought I remembered seeing on his post about the options. I went back to the screen shot my dealer texted me about posted more later

Gotcha. So what was the ‘all in’ difference

here is what I found later. Straight from my texts with a screen shot from dealer. The flood plan was like 1200 plus what options I had added totaled right at 1400 and that was what they matched.

I’m still blown away that the local guys, several, let a sale go right by them and a big reason was gouging on the warranty. Wtf?

I still get emails from a slew of people and many still have the same trucks they did a couple months ago when they could sell me one. It’s like they don’t acknowledge the economic reality around them now, and were too greedy then to get in the game.

I paid less for the truck, got more for my trade, and saved big on the warranty. Those guys even shipped both vehicles about 650 miles. Just unbelievable the difference you can find by shipping around on a car.
