That big Lincoln had the 462 ci. from the MEL engine family (Mercury,Edsel,Lincoln). Couldn’t get one in a Ford, and it was nothing like the 460 ci.(385) Ford engine family. That baby had 340 hp and 485 lb ft of torque. They were known for their low end stump pulling torque! By the looks of that beautiful vessel it needed it!Ever parked next to a sedan longer than your Expedition EL? My aunts 1964 Lincoln Continental everyone.

Another tidbit of info on those suicide door Lincoln’s is that they are actually unibody cars. The main reason Lincoln made them suicide (front opening rear doors) was because there wasn’t adequate support for the large rear doors to open from the rear on the convertibles. One would think those 4dr convertibles would fold in half in the middle. Cool thing is that you can option a new Lincoln with suicide rear doors again.Yes it’s a 7.6 liter. The ride is also unbelievably good!! It’s like your sitting on your living room couch even when going over railroad tracks lol.
