When I spray my vehicle off, the lights blink and the mirrors fold in and out randomly. Not the whole time but usually a couple of times. Seems like it happens when, I'm spraying the driver's side door and mirror. My key fob is in my coat pocket(I'm pretty sure I'm not hitting the button) I also have my extra key in the truck.

Any ideas why?

I'm having to take my truck in to the dealer for a powertrain fault code and rear defroster tab on the rear window broke off. Do I need to ask the dealer about this?

I have my mirror fold off. But if the key is in your pocket when washing it, it will flash the lights when the door sensors think they have been touched. I just leave the key in the cup holder and it won’t do it. Not sure if this is normal.

Pretty normal AFAIK. I keep my FOB in my pocket when I wand wash or else there is a very real possibility that the keys will be locked inside the truck. Not really a major issue if you have your phone on you, then unlock via the app. If not...SOL?

But yes mine flashes and folds mirrors in and out as you get close. I typically open and close all the doors so I can wand wash the lower rockers and get all the grit and sand out of the panel.

If you put your key someplace further from the vehicle, this won't happen. I find this to be annoying too when washing my Expedition, so I just leave the key in my garage when washing in the driveway. Seems like the door handle sensors are capacitive sensors and they react when water is sprayed on them when the key fob is in close proximity to the handle.

Same here aside from I have enabled mirror fold. I don't think there would be a fix for this, would there? Just an adjustment in having a prox keyed vehicle. I actually unlock and then hang the key in the garage away from it altogether and that does the trick. Mine also did it by just hosing it off with water steam making the connection. Pretty annoying, but, I like it for the most part/used to it now otherwise. Never had a prox key vehicle before, so this is what I've found works for me. [emoji106]

Everybody else nailed this. Completely normal. Keep the key further away.

Also, YOU SHOULD not keep your spare key in the vehicle. You are definitely defeating the purpose. Somebody breaks in and can immediately start your car and drive away.

Why SOL? Don’t all trim levels have keyless entry?

You mean Keypad entry? I've never had this feature before and it is pretty sweet/how I'd get back in. I rarely use FordPass for unlocking...

Yes. I’ve always thought it was a goofy feature in the past...before I bought a Ford. Now I love it. It’s handy when I’m camping and don’t keep my keys on me. I have it on my F-350 so if I do a forced regen of my DPF I can lock the truck while it’s running the regen. I have a steering wheel lock because Super Duties are stolen frequently where I live and I don’t want to get a ticket for “puffing”.

I’ve also had it at the dealer and if I can’t make it before they close I pay my bill over the phone and tell them to lock the key inside with my receipt. I don’t even need my spare to get in.

Soon all cars will be supported by an app but I’m surprised this didn’t catch on with other car makers.

They do....how many people have memorized that code? I def didn't but maybe its just me. I rely on the app as backup. *shrug*

Use the master code to program other codes that are easier to remember. I believe you can also associate the code with a certain memory setting just like the keys.
