Replaced the 'Throttle Position Sensor' (new). Cleaned all connectors. Shifts perfect 1-2 3-4. When I am going 30-60 and floor it to go into passing gear it will not go into passing gear and seems to bog down. 4R100 trans. Any advice on how to fix this issue? Thanks, Bob

I have changed the oil and filter every 30k miles since new. At 120k miles an oil and filter change will occur. Current Oil is very light pink and clean.

Exp has 120k miles on it. Changed oil every 3-4k miles since new. Does not burn a drop of oil. What does compression have to do with the no passing gear issue???

Check the throttle cable stretch.

Take off the intake tube from the throttle body. Have a helper press the gas pedal to full throttle. See how much the throttle plate is open.

I have a feeling it’s not open all the way.

If it’s not open all the way, climb under the dash and add spacers to the top of the gas pedal to take up the slack. Some people use zip ties, some use fishing line weights.

Now I understand. Will check in the morning. Thanks for the potential fix. Hope it works.

UPDATE: I tried the zip ties. Still have to same issue. shifts perfect 1-2-3-4. Will go into passing gear if I don't floor it.

When I floor it the engine bogs down.

Six months ago cleaned all injectors, new plugs and new coils.

Any addition advice? Thanks, Bob

You wrote that it’s bogging down. How do you know it’s a tranny issue? If your power curve is diving down that sounds like you have multiple problems. If it was just a passing gear absence you would still accelerate w higher rpms.

Manifold air leak. Check all the hoses plus the big hose from the air cleaner to the throttle body. You are probably running lean.
