Not really a mechanic but can anyone confirm my belief that I have a leaking water pump from this picture? Also, are there any TSBs out there for these to be replaced? 2016 Expedition View attachment 72270
Yeah it’s only been leaking 2 mornings now after startup for about 3 minutes. Enough to make a small puddle each time. I’m thinking it’s the seal bc after the truck warms up, leak stops completely. Thank you for the reply!Sure looks like it is leaking.
Mine was replaced at 75,*** miles. It only leaked when the engine was running, and the leak was small (about a one-inch drop in coolant in the reservoir over one week).
‘I’m not aware of any TSB - but there was an updated pump and pulley kit according to the service advisor at the dealership when I had it replaced.

Oh wow, I didn’t know that, thank you so much. Trying to see if it’s covered under warranty nowThe water pump has a weep hole.
When your water pump seal starts to go bad it lets coolant out the weep hole as a warning.
Just over 80k. Section 6 of my warranty solutions paperwork basically spells out all the hoses, connections, lines etc that aren’t covered. Huge eye rollHow many miles?
Lol idk about that. That old ass motor has no place among todays 3.5s or 5.0s.hmmm, sounds like the 5.4 is still better.
the 5.4 3V is one of the least reliable engines of the last 20 years.hmmm, sounds like the 5.4 is still better.
and the 5.4 2v is one of the most reliable engines in the last 20 years what is your point?the 5.4 3V is one of the least reliable engines of the last 20 years.
My experience is that most, with good care carry on past 200K miles. But after 150,000 you're rolling the dice for sure. And that's here in stop-n-go city driving.Any engine that hits 150,000 miles without having to be opened up is good in my eyes.
Based on what? Have two, one with 138,000 and another with 114,000. Blanket statements are hard to back up!the 5.4 3V is one of the least reliable engines of the last 20 years.
