2023 lane assist not green/red

Anyone had this happen? It’s showing the car in the instrument cluster but showing grey lanes beside it. I see what looks to be a camera from outside of car above rear view mirror but not sure how to get to it and clean it from inside the car. If that’s even the issue.

It’s not clear what the problem is exactly. If the lines are grey it’s because it can’t detect the lane lines, you’re not going fast enough, you have the button pressed to disable it, or you’ve disabled it from the menus.

Are you trying this whilst sat on your driveway?

No while on interstate I see a pic of the expedition and the lakes are grey - I drift to another lane and no alert or correction - it’s turned on in settings and the steering wheel control - coming from a gmc Acadia and it was super aggressive in this technology. Just wondering if I need to clean the camera or what needs to be done for it to pickup the roads

You can't force it to update over the air.

Hold on: Are you saying you just bought this truck and lane assist is not working, or you just picked it up from the dealer after some repair(s) and now lane assist is not working? Message me the VIN.

Your truck is not reporting any codes indicative of any ADAS problems. I pulled the a/b data from the Motorcraft site and the config in your IPMA shows LKA is enabled on your truck. Are you sure that you have this button pressed and LKA is turned on?

Yes it says it’s on when I turned it off I saw my speed - when it’s on I see the speed and expedition with left and right grey lines

Yea, that camera is the one responsible for reading the lanes in front of you and are directly related to lane keeping. The only way to get to them is by removing the rear view mirror assembly. However, if there was an issue with that camera, it would be reporting some DTC that would point to it.

I checked the config in the IPC, PSCM, IPMA and APIM. The only inconsistency I can find is in the APIM on this line:



The 0 in location xxxx xxxx 0x-- indicates that lane centering is turned off.



OTA history shows your truck received OTA 6.14.0 back in October. I have no way of knowing if that OTA wiped the config for this setting somehow, but I pulled the data from a random 2023 Expo I found online and it does not have a zero there. If you have FORScan, I would try changing that value from a 0 to a 2 to enable LC and see if that fixes it. Go to your driver assist menu and cruise control settings. Is there a sliding button there for lane centering? If so, does it allow you to turn it on, or is it grayed out and you can't turn it on?

Yes, there....so you can turn on lane keep there in the touchscreen? It is not grayed out?

With the exception of that one value I found, everything seems to point towards LKA working. Without being able to plug into the truck myself, there isn't anything else I can suggest.

How do I find that setting to change in for scan?

That's in the APIM (as built) section. Tbh, I doubt this is what is causing it not to work, but it is worth a try. If you don't have FORScan yet, what I can do is turn it off on my truck and test it to see if lane-centering still works or not. I can try it out tonight after work.

Lane cams are also under the side mirrors. Make sure they are clean. Also check all the settings in the menus.
