Is there some way to just start the Expy by pushing the button and not touching the brake?

SAFE? Yikes, I have been starting the last 40-50 vehicles unsafely!I don’t have an answer - but I’m curious. Why would you want to defeat this safety interlock system for starting the engine?
You need to do a Voltage Drop Test on your Battery cables and starter cables. Is there some way to just start the Expy by pushing the button and not touching the brake?
To eliminate pressing the brake when starting? You need to do a Voltage Drop Test on your Battery cables and starter cables.
To try and eliminante all these posts about you not being able to start your truck. To eliminate pressing the brake when starting?
Those are two totally different topics. To try and eliminante all these posts about you not being able to start your truck.
Yoda say's.......Is there some way to just start the Expy by pushing the button and not touching the brake?
But doesn't it stay in park when you do that?I also find it inconvenient sometimes to have to press the brake pedal to start the engine. On those occasions, I just use the remote start feature on my key fob.
My limited does and the platinum does but that's probably it. I like it but I hate stepping on the brake every time. It's already in park so what is the big safety issue?Which 2017 Expedition trims have push-button start? Just curious as my XLT doesn't.

Even if you use the remote starter you have to step on the brake and push the start button to drive the vehicle.I also find it inconvenient sometimes to have to press the brake pedal to start the engine. On those occasions, I just use the remote start feature on my key fob.
Maybe get a chauffeur? But doesn't it stay in park when you do that?
But it is in park no big deal. After thinking about this some more. The brake pedal does a lot of things really. It prevents unintended starting while working on the car and someone or something bumps the button accidently. It prevents pets from starting the vehicle if you don't want it started. It allows you to turn on accessory only power if you want power without running the engine.
After thinking about it I use accessory only power quite a bit during the cooler months, I would hate to lose that.
duh........Maybe get a chauffeur?
I couldn't agree more.duh........
Your definition of "hate" and my definition of "hate" are vastly different. My limited does and the platinum does but that's probably it. I like it but I hate stepping on the brake every time. It's already in park so what is the big safety issue?
