Do any of you guys use or recommend using synthetic oil?

Opinions?
I've been using either valvoline or mobil1 full synthetic for almost four years now. I prefer the full synthetics since i tow very often(everyday), higher temp ranges. I've also heard synthetic blends are decent. Just don't get the cheap crap(walmart special)! I would stay with what weight is suggested 5w20(i believe). Read in your manual to see if synthetics are required.

I'm not the original owner of my Expy, the prior owner put 40,000 on it. Anyway when I bought it he said he was using full synthetic Penzoil, I found several oil change receipts to confirm that.

Well at the suggestion of many on this forum as well as other forums I decided to move to the recommended Motorcraft 5-20 and FL820S filter. I've put 23,000 on it since and just recently a cam phaser went bad. Now was that inevitable? Was it related to changing to a blend oil? Was it related to using synthetic? Who knows, but what was good, when I took it in I got no flack from the dealer about using oil other than as recommended. In fact I had 23,000 miles worth of oil change receipts to show the oil I was using and that helped remove one obstacle on the warranty repair.
