    Won't start after running for a while...

    You can actually clean the IAC valve...much cheaper. Just remove the valve (on the back of the engine block) and spray it down the chemtool or whatever and let it sit overnight to dry. Make sure the valve actuates freely.

    Idle Air Control valve is clogged. If you can wrench, remove it, get some Chemtool or other solvent, clean it, let it dry out and reinstall.

    I wouldn't worry too much about the air flow. These trucks have plenty to spare, IMO. When I had my Thunderbird, I had way over half of my radiator blocked by a tranny cooler, among other things...It did just fine. I think you'll be just fine.
