I found one bad lash adjuster and both timing chain tensioners are blown out. I'll pull the front cover tomorrow and go from there.
When both blow out it can drop the oil pressure and mess with the VCT's etc. but it's usually one that goes. Ford didn't change that until they came out with the eco-boost. If a chain jumped a tooth that will explain the low power.

Hell when one blows out just a little its enough to cause issues. Probably because of the just barly adaquate oil pump in this turd.

This caused a lot of VVT issues on my truck.

Problem solved. I installed a full timing set, minus phasers, along with a melling m340hv oil pump and all rockers and valve lash adjusters and I'm back to full power. Not an easy job but fordtechmakuloco's videos explained everything very well.

Did you have a lot of bad rockers? Mine were all perfect to my surprise. I still have mine apart while I wait forever for this spring compressor tool to arrive to insert the rockers back under the cam. Nobody locally carried it unfortunately so I have to wait online. Amazons fastest delivery was May 23rd with the supply chain disruptions. Found one finally on Freedom Racing that I can get this month lol.

It probably jumped time causing the loss of power. I assume you put a chain in but do you really think it needed it? Mine was like new at over 200k miles.

How long did it take? Any prior experience doing this sort of thing, or just unrelated and less complex driveway wrenching?
