there is a click/clunk noise coming from the front, only when AWD is on. Goes away in 2wd, so i know it is either differential, driveline or CV joint related. It is most noticeable when decelerating, but there is a faint click when cruising or accelerating as well. Frequency seems to be with every wheel rotation, but i have not verified that.

CV boots look fine, and nothing visual looks out of place. I dont use AWD much, so i have ignored it for a few years, but with snow lately it is back on my mind.

anyone else have this issue?

How many miles? Original hubs/front wheel bearings, IWE actuators, CV axles?

Forgive me for asking an obvious question, but are you engaging 4WD on relatively dry roads and is the noise most noticeable when making slow speed tight turns?
noise is notice able driving straight, doesnt change with turning, so i doubt my CV's are to blame. and i have not checked to see if it makes the same noise in 4 hi or 4 lo, I am only referring to 4A (awd) also doesnt matter if it is dry or ice or snow, sound is still there

approx 200k, all original, so i am sure something is due for replacement. the noise has been there for the last 50k tho, hasnt changed much and i dont use 4A (awd) much more than a few times a year so it hasnt been a priority to assess.

Sounds like the front wheel hubs and iwe actuators to me. I just replaced them on mine. I've got a couple threads on those jobs. There are quite a few solid YouTube videos on the how tos as well.
