I'm close to having to drop a new motor in my 06 expedition. Does anyone know what engines I could put in? I really don't want to put an engine in with the trition 5.4 spark plugs. Any suggestion on where to get the best deal for an engine?

What's the issue? And at what mileage?

Might be a bit drastic

Another 5.4 3V is the only thing feasible that won’t butcher the truck. They haven’t made the original plugs that snap since 2012 when they were superseded with the SP-515 part number.

it's an 06 with 132k. It's consuming oil, the motor was loud as could be, I thought that the exhaust manifold was cracked it was so loud turns out only 1 qt of oil inside. no leaks at all. loud ticking sounds all the time. lifters or timing chain/guides. Guy who looked at it said it would be a tear down to fix and probably cheaper to drop a new motor in. in the last year, new belt and tensioner, plugs and coils, cam sensors and cam solenoids.
body and interior are great so I don't want to just sell it

You sure it's burning not leaking the oil? Me I always spray a shot of white plastidip over the oil plug after an oil change to make any leaking visible

Then again... having run on just 1 qt, who knows if it's still saveable?
