Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and thinking about purchasing my first Ford product and I wanted some input from you guys (the experts).

Our family is getting bigger and we need to carry more stuff and I would like some 4WD capability to handle the occasional snow/ice/flood as well as haul some stuff. I'm paying cash so budget is a big concern.

I am looking at a 2006 Expedition XLT with the 5.4 V8 and 4X4. Its got 100k on it but its a one owner and looks to be very well cared for. Owner says all the maintenance has been done at the dealer and there have been no issues in the 6 years they have owned it. They are asking $10K for it, KBB says that's about right... what do y'all think?

Also are there any pitfalls to be concerned about with the 2006 year? Any other concerns or comments? I plan on doing the test drive on Friday so Id love to have a list of things to look for and check out/test.

Thanks in advance!

Have the plugs been changed? There's a thread (sticky) that lists common items to look for when purchasing a second gen.

Seller says plugs were changed last year. Did ford fix the plug issue or do the replacement plugs still break off?

Well.. thanks for the help, gang. I looked at the Expy on Friday and took a 2 hour test drive. Its a 2006 XLT 4X4 that just hit 100K. Had a local mech look it over and everything came back solid. Best part is, the plugs had recently been changed with the 100K service and it had brand new tires! Owner was really cool and had owned the car since 07 and it was well cared for. I only have 1 crappy pic, but more to come!

Now to the mods! :-D
