My dispstick has a blob on the end of it. Is this normal? It looks like baked on oil or black plastic.... it is right at the bottom tip.
2003 5.4L dipstick question...

Yeah, it think it's normal. The first time I checked my oil I about choked. I couldn't believe the oil was that dirty and that low. Then I realized that is was just that coating on the bottom of the dipstick.

It is normal. It helps guide the end of the dipstick down the tube smoothly so it won't bind later on.
