2003 center console organizer

Hi everyone,
I was tired of the black hole that is our console and decided to tame it. Used 2 plastic cutting boards and foam board for a template. I made it fit over the existing factory rubber mat so stuff wouldn't be rattling around in there. Also added a pouch for an ipod since my Avic had ipod controls. And a flashlight holder on the lid. That's about it. Well, there is an amp under the console too, but that is a whole other story. Check out the pics.

Notes: I would use nylon next time instead of poly as nylon can be bought or dyed black. I might would rearrange the configuration of the spaces a little different if I had to do it again. Was very time consuming to make. Surely there is an easier way than cutting up plastic. Vacuum forming, maybe? Molds and pouring plastic?

Anyway, worked out well for what I need and hope the pics give you some good ideas. What do y'all think?

A lot do but most dont...living in area with 2 million ppl...its a safety measure and I've been areas where it's a block away from an establishment and things go down...but then again...I frequent skittish areas a lot...plus I have out of state plates...my truck attracts attention anyway

I do and everyone I know does. Its illegal to leave it in your car if you have a concealed tho. Its sopost to be on your person.

I carry concealed, center console or in my computer bag depending on what I'm wearing or where I'm going. I'm thinking about a truck mounted holster because it will be easier to draw my weapon should I need to.

I have a holster made to mounted on center console right next to my leg...if I had the window down u can't see it from either side...all I have to do is drop my hand and its right there...ppl just think my hand is resting

Not so in Texas and (except for obvious nazilands like Crook County et al) I doubt it's that way in many other states either.

It's legal to keep it in your car loaded if you have a ccp here in gun friendly Indiana. But it's bad for them if someone else drives your car and they don't have a ccp and get stopped.

page 4 has my holster in my truck...if I want to I can put my leg right against it if someone is talking to me when I have the window down and they never see it...all I have to do is drop my arm off the armrest and its in my hand...even other ppl riding in my truck cant see it...

I keep mine inside my waistband in the 4 o'clock position. My fear is if I leave it in the vehicle and the vehicle gets broken into my sidearm ends up on the street. If I am ever in a situation where I am not permitted to carry on private property I disassemble the gun and leave it in the car and take the barrel with me in my pocket. This way all they can steal is a glock paperweight.

Well while we are still hijacking the thread with pistol talk....

I use one of these small safes to keep my pistol in while I am at work. In my previous vehicles I just tethered it with the cable to the seat frame.

What's my best option on an 05 EB?

Ditto - but if I go somewhere where they prohibit firearms, I just go some somewhere else - or I just don't tell them.
