You're kidding right?

What exactly is a state inspection looking for? In IL we have emissions testing (CEL scanning) if you live in the city limits, no testing if you live in rural/country side.

Guess those east coasters are looking for more and more ways to bleed your wallet dry! Here in California Dmv wanted $246.00 to register a 15 year old Suv, back in 2014 when I bought my jolly green giant. I told them I don't use it commercially, so after a quick Dmv inspection, I now have regular car plates. Fees went down to $94.00, huge drop. If it would have been the f150, it wouldn't work, because of the stupid bed. A little tip for those of you tired of paying commercial fees, change over to non commercial plates. May not work in all states, but does in California.

I'm from Chicago and when I first moved here I was like ...wtf is a state inspection? But it checks over A LOT. The vehicles owner had just moved to the area but from Baltimore md, so I'm sure they knew the condition of it.
