We were towing our travel trailer in the USA (from Canada) and suddenly lost all throttle in South Dakota. 3.5L ecoboost, 135,000 miles on it. We ended up with three codes - P0627, P0087, and P00C6. We had it towed to a nearby dealership that said the FPDM and the high pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. $1200 later, we were out the door and it seemed to be running fine. After putting about 150 miles on it, though, the same problem arose and we had to leave it on the side of the road again. It has been towed back to the same dealership so they can warranty their previous work, and it again has P0627 and P0087. Other than a wiring issue, what else should we be looking for? The wiring harness to the FPDM is exposed on the outside of the frame rail, but doesn't look to have any damage.
This really destroyed our family vacation and we don't know when we'll be able to get home and back to work. We have about 12 hours of towing to do after the dealer releases it next week (assuming they do something), and I'm already paranoid that the problem again won't be fixed and we'll be left on the side of the road for a third time. Has anyone else faced this fueling issue?
