I bought plain Stainless steel.

As far as the OEM exhaust, not entirely/remotely sure how anyone could make that leap as you did? A single cut, with a sawzall directly behind the weld - joining muffler to rear length of exhaust that feeds to the OEM resonator, is a simple fix for even a non journeyman welder. Unless someone took a direct look at another expedition side by side with both on lifts, it would most likely still pass as OEM factory original, non altered/repaired part - if done correctly and stirred into the original seam.

I wasn’t impressed with the stock exhaust, my muffler rotted out and I had to replace it in spring. Replaced with stainless but as we know even stainless rusts when it’s exhaust eventually.
