Has anyone had success or instructions on using Forscan on a 2024 XLT to program a second key fob. Bought the vehicle with only one key fob. I downloaded Forscan and bought a similar key and obd2 reader but some say it won’t work…

Have you tried programming in vehicle? It has capacity to program, I believe up to 4 remotes. See owners manual or youtube for instructions.

I did this with my 2024 KR to see if I could...and I wanted 3 FOBs.

I ran into issues because the FOB seller sold me a 19-21 style FOB labeled as a 2024 FOB. It worked...but didn't work 100% The earlier FOBS will start the vehicle, but the buttons will not work. Ensure you have a 2024 compatible FOB. Ford has made so many changes within the 17-24 body style, that they aren't compatible with each other within the generation. It took us a week of fiddling with FOB's before finding out the real issue.

Just a FYI. FORSCAN worked great otherwise to program the FOB using the FORSCAN forum programming instructions.

I'm having the same trouble with my 2024 Max Limited, we only have one working FOB since we lost one and I ordered one from a locksmith on Ebay that is showing to be an OEM and matches the FCC # of the working FOB. When I took it to the local Ford dealer they supposedly worked on it for 2 hours and of course charged me the programming fee of 125.00 and couldn't get it to program, saying it was something with the security and since it was used it wouldn't be able to be erased and reprogrammed. The locksmith I purchased it from says that is basically not true and that they just want to force me to purchase a new one from Ford. Is this my only option to purchase from the dealer? I'm in rural area and the locksmith I contacted locally prior to going to the dealer didn't act like he could or wanted to try.
