2025 Expedition details

Has anyone seen Space Silver / Glacier Grey in person. Would prefer to see these on the Expy in person before ordering. Sounds like they have taken the pre production Expys to the TX State Fair so hopefully they can get some up to the Midwest to view.

Looking at the SPP package and the Glacier Grey in some marketing/car mag pics looks good just haven't seen in person. Wife likes Star White but I don't want to match 80% of the cars on the road but maybe the SPP would stand out a bit...

Glacier Gray was an F150 color in 2024. Maybe you can find on a dealer's lot to look at.

For chevy, you have to choose tahoe or suburban separate. Nissan added a button for a configurator for the 25 armada, but its not live yet. It just requests your personal contact information.

Anyone know of a dealership in Texas doing inventory pricing on the 2025 Expeditions? I know Long McArthur in Kansas and Alabama Ford (Town and Country) are, but I would prefer to buy in state.

Agreed. We were considering a 2025 GMC Yukon XL, but we now prefer the 2025 Suburban dash over the Yukon.

I think Ford should have been more conservative with the Expedition refresh. They have made a radical departure from their pre 2025 models.

I'm not a fan of non-round steering wheels for larger vehicles like pickups or SUVs that have a large travel distance from lock to lock. Flat bottom steering wheels are more appropriate for sports cars with quick lock to lock steering wheel travel.

I keep trying to match the expy price on the tahoe, but the price balloons when you add features. Like ford, they pkg desirable features in these crazy expensive pkgs which pushes the price further than I'd want. The sequoia is a much better value, for the same price as the expy with spp, the sequoia adds window shades, cooled rear seats, and massaging front seats. As much as i like the looks, i can't get over the rough ride (i assume) and small rear area.

Here’s my order. Platinum Max in Dark Matter Grey with Salt Crystal interior and Driver’s Package. Paying invoice plus $1,000. Dealer told me late January to early February.

Couldn’t build a Suburban that I wanted for under $90k. Thought about an RST with the comfort and capability packages for $81k, but I’m not the biggest fan of the old 5.3L on such a large vehicle (I had a 2011 Colorado with the 5.3L which was a fun little truck). Also couldn’t give up vented seats. I drive with them on full in every vehicle each time I drive. If I was to go with the RST I would want the 3.0L diesel for $82k including those packages (I have a 2024 High Country for my work truck with the updated LZ0 and have enjoyed it over the first 20k miles so far) but my dealer was telling me 4-5 months for the diesel. Power running boards not being standard on the High Country really bothered me with the 25 Suburban as well.

My wife prefers the dash of the Expedition over the Suburban minus the vents, but she is coming from a Tesla Model X so she is used to the minimal look. I liked it when we saw it in person, a lot more than I was expecting, but it never bothered me in the spy photos either.

The Sequoia has no storage when the seats are folded. They don't fold flat and probably have half the usable space the Expedition has. It also has poor 3rd row leg room. Dealbreakers for me....

I'm so conflicted. Usually like the expy design a lot, but always loved the nav design except 3rd gen (though I ended with one and loved her to pieces). I always liked the expy design enough to be ok with it. However, after owning a sec nav, I rele want the new one. However, is it going to be worth the 20k delta? I'll wait to see if I get an overseas assignment for 2026 first then make a decision.

Was liking the idea of a new Timberline Tremor to replace my Limited eventually, but between the orange grille/accents, the weird black upper hatch, and the dash I'm not sure I can do it. I prefer the looks of the Z71, but it looks like you have to give up the 2nd row bench to get some of the options which makes no sense.

Chevrolet is too complicated and frustrating with their build criteria. I couldn't wait for a diesel Z 71 Tahoe, but now on the build site anything you try to add but tow package enhancements will kick you back to the V8.

Indeed. An extended wheelbase for the Sequoia would be a winner but I don’t think they sell enough of them to offer two different platforms. Also the hybrid powertrain kills the 3rd row floor. You sit back there with your knees way up. That’s a deal breaker for me as our 3rd row is constantly occupied by my teenagers.

Im waiting to get my hands on an armada and see the price. I liked the qx80, didnt love it though, but if the armada has a softer drive than the qx80, it maybe a good alternative.

Load E tires and higher pressure made the rear much more stable for me.

There are reasons for load E but 2x a yr heavy tows isn’t worth heavily compromising passenger ride quality and road performance. Load E’s are lousy for anything but heavy loads.
