As the title says my 4x4 light is lit, but I only have 2WD regardless of switch position. A4WD was working fine until I put it in 4Hi the other day on a whim to play in the snow. When I finished mucking around in the snow in 4Hi I turned the switch back to A4WD and have been stuck in 2WD only mode ever since. When the switch is moved, nothing happens at all. I used to hear a little click under the dash, now, nothing. And the 4x4 light just sits there lit, mocking me. Oh yeah my truck has 176k on it but is in near pristine condition, FWIW...
Naturally we are predicted to get 6-14" of snow tonight into tomorrow.
My plan based on previous posts I have researched: get under the truck tonight and lube the shift motor shaft with silicone spray. Also check the vaccuum lines running back for vaccuum and leaks etc, particularly under the battery area.
Anybody see holes in this plan or anything to add?
