A/C and freon and such and such

Does anybody know from experience about how much freon a 1st gen expy can take if it has been totally emptied? I'm curious about how many cans of this stuff I might need before I proceed. Thanks

mmrseed, look on the plastic cover over the radiator. ON that should be a sticker concerning the heating/cooling system and that will tell you how much freon you will need. Keep in mind that the value may vary whether you have the rear A/C system or not.

well I'll be damned...it's right there. Even the mechanic that was doing my brakes said there was no way to know how much freon these cars take....you just fill it til it stops. And all we had to do was look at the radiator cover...or ask the good people on this site. Thanks
