Help! Have abs pump failure/ abs circuit failure. To replace pump I need to know number of pump I have, BUT I don't have a sticker or numbers on my existing pump. How do I determine the pump I have?

First it would help if you stated your year model and engine just putting it under 1st gen doesn't tell enough.

Sorry, I have a 1999 Ex XLT 5.4 auto 4wd. Was told there were 2 possible pumps, and they do not interchange.

Have checked connections at wheel sensors, there is power to the pump. Also, when starting the truck, if I depress the brake pedal, the abs light does not come on until I let the pedal come up. Anybody got any ideas?

abs pump failure

Have read abs code, pump failure. I cannot find any tag or label on the housing telling me what pump I have, and was told I cannot use a pump other than the one I have. If I change the pump and module will that work, or am I still out of luck?

I didn't see a listing for just the pump on fordparts.com
I did see a hydraulic control unit that is just under $1000 so i would say if you where to grab a pump from a donor that had the same engine you would probably be alright. Not 100% certain though.

Have you tried pulling the abs fuse to see if it is driveable? Not really sure that it will be but turning the abs system off completely might at least allow you to drive it.

I have had my fuse pulled for almost 3 years and never had issues other than the dash light always on
