Adding remote start to XLT

What did your dealer charge you for the programming, and did you program the keys or did they?

I had to buy the remote start "kit" which was only 2 new keys in a box for $200 and change when I bought the truck new from the dealer. Dealer programmed keys and PCM if needed. I now have 4 keys, 2 standard, 2 with the center remote start/stop button.

Are you sure you don't have remote start already?
My 2018 Expy XLT 4x4 Max is a lowly 200a and it does remote start even though the dealer said it did not. I have the large fob but not the intelligent access key which I think means no remote start button, no power tailgate, and I have to actually press the unlock button to open the doors.
There is no start button on the fob, press lock button, then unlock, then lock button again and vavoom.

Positive. I went through the key sequence at the dealership prior to having it installed to ensure I would not get a honk performing the key sequence. It would not remote start without perimeter plus for me (2019 XLT 201A).

so here's a question, is there an additional shock sensor we can buy to integrate with the factory security system in a platinum? Some J-hole backed into my rear bumper today, hard enough to pop the sides out and damage a couple of the rear bumper panels a little, hard enough I would think a shock sensor would have gone off if I had one.

This appears to be the ticket for the 2019+ expeditions. Curious if anyone has done this on their own without the dealer doing it? I have a couple recall things pending, maybe I will just have them do this when I take it in. $50 for install isn't bad...

Yes, I installed the Perimeter Plus module on my 2021 Expedition XLT (200a).

Got the unit off of ebay for $129. It said it was for a Ranger, but I verified the part number works with a number of vehicles including mine.

Installation was easy, it hooks up in-line with the back of the OBD port. I found a small ledge just above the port and used the included zip-ties to secure it to the framing.

The only fiddling I did was some adjustment to the sensitivity knob for the security/bump feature.

Using the stock remote, press Lock-Unlock-Lock and it starts right up.

@MikePA Thanks, I assumed it was plug n play but also wouldn't be surprised if it required a flash. The part you showed is also the same as listed on Ford's website and they show a big list of vehicles it works on, basically almost all the 2019+ vehicles used the same module. I will have to do an ebay search and see if I get lucky like you did.

Bringing this up again, I'm interested in this module (JS7Z-19A361-A) simply for the shock sensor functionality. I have a platinum that already has the remote start function, if I install this module, anyone know if it will change the behavior of the remotes start? I like using the single remote start button (clicking it twice). But I do want the shock sensor function. Appreciate any insight from anyone having done this.

I wanted to install also Remote start

2019 XLT (i think its 201A - leather power seats, big screen)

and it shows me

not
KN1Z-19A361-A

any one know why??
