I have owned our 17 expedition EL for a while and it has 134k on it with a S&B intake and 2” leveling spacers and still running great. After a search here I see so many different tuners people run. I just don’t any a basics simple upgrade tune but am not sure still who to go through. Also I am thinking on getting raptor wheels for the offset and cheaper tire price. I have not found a 17 body style with raptor wheels on it even through search for some reason. IMG_6183.jpeg

Just be aware you will need to trim/cut the ends of the rear drive shafts as the threaded end of the drive shafts will interfere with the center hub cap. If you have an angle grinder it’s very quick and easy to do.

This is the wife's 2016 with 2017 Raptor wheels. I had them repainted in gloss black, added black Gorilla splined lug nuts and went with LT285/70R17 Michelin Defenders. By dimensions the tires should be slightly oversized, but by GPS the speedo is dead nuts. The small increase in offset and width of the wheels is a great subtle change.

You will have to cut the rear axle ends or hollow out the center caps. I chose to cut the axle ends.

I have a 2008 and 2015 expedition, and a 2012 F150 ecoboost. I have a 5star tune on my F150. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing great either. Even at the dragstrip, it shows very little measurable change. Only big change was in my bank balance. I run the 2015 in tow mode often and am pleased with performance... makes the shifts a bit more to my liking.

Thanks for the heads up on the raptor wheels guys!
There are so many tunes available for these. I am looking for more power and I do plan on doing some more bolt on upgrades. It’s got a lot of miles so I just need to be careful. At the dealership I work at they use EDGE tune, I just don’t know enough about them to get it yet.

I'm adding a different perspective shot to show the fit. Sorry, I don't have a before (OEM rims) but OEM definitely tucked under more. At stock height, the Raptor wheels are a great offset. When I had the Raptors on my lifted 2003, they were tucked under too much for my liking. 17657479569862734240962759314778.jpg

Not to bad looking. I’ll send a picture of what I have now. I put 1/4” spacer on my factory wheels last week to make sure the offset of a raptor wheel would not rub as much as I do already. I could go down a tire size but I’m not going to.
