Hello all, been lurking for a bit and finally traded in my 2018 f150 for a 2019 Exp Limited as we needed a 3rd row vehicle. I had the Fox 2.0s on my F150 and it made a huge difference over stock. Can't seem to find a part number for Expeditions for Foxs? Anyone done these or 5100s?

You can run F150 Fox 2.0s on the front but will have to run Bilsteins on the rear or a spacer with some other shock if you want 2” of lift.
If you want all 4 to match you’ll have to spend the big coin in ICONS. Unless you are good with under 2” of lift from the Bilsteins.

Granted I have a ‘16 but have F150 5100s set to 2” up front and 4600s with a 2” Readylift spacer on the rear.

Factory UCAs hit the coil at full droop. I bought BDS UCAs hoping to fix the issue but they are made specifically for Fox 2.0s and still had contact.
I now have Fox 2.0s waiting to be put on. But it has rained or been below freezing every day I have had off since I bought them in November.
I am guessing I’ll fork over the coin to put the ICONS on the rear someday.

I replaced my stock OEM "leakers" on my '18 XLT with KYB Excel-Gs in the rear and Bilstein 5100s up front -- great ride, no more drifting.

Does your truck have CCD?

Anyone know if the Icons will work with trucks that have CCD? Does anyone make shock replicators to make the system think there are still CCD shocks installed? Or can we stop the truck from looking for them with ForScan? Anyone replace their CCD shocks with something different?

Why would you do that? You paid big $$ for the CCD and now you are scraping them? Just curious....

Don't have a choice... Navigator.

Reason for swapping is I will most likely need to go stiffer as I will be towing 8000lb regularly. I also prefer the ride on the expy to the floaty Navi. Nobody has made airbags for us yet and the only adjustables (stiffness) are ICONs.

Even in excite or what ever Sport mode is on the Navy? You may also want to look into the Hellwig sway bars.

Don't have the truck yet, just getting a feel for what my options are in case as all our other tow rigs are 2500/3500 rams and I will be approaching max tow limits on our bigger cranes. The Navis have a lower tow rating and I can only assume it is due to the softer suspension. I used my boss's Tundra to tow our heaviest bumper pull and this is what it looked like. No idea what options he has on it but it does have a factory looking brake controller. Luckily I'm a flatlander so wind is the only thing I really have to worry about. The Tundra did OK, I just wouldn't want to go long distance with it. Pretty sure it has a 10k towing capacity as well...

Any IRS is going to sag with that much trailer, you really need to have a WDH with a trailer that heavy. No set of springs is going to solve your problem at that kind of weight. Even with airbags or Icons it isn't going to go well without a WDH.

They are definitely on the options list... Hopefully the Expy ones bolt right up. That will probably be the first thing I do as its the most cost effective...

You are correct, its going to sag some no matter what, I just want to minimize it. If I have to buy a WDHitch for just the heaviest one I'm ok with it. I'd just rather not buy one for all of them. Most of them are in the 5-6k range and I can manipulate the tongue weight by moving the weight carts. I'm also only doing around town on flat land.

You may be happier with the sumospring things. If you increase the "spring" weight on the icon it is going to ride like crap when unloaded. The sumosprings will decrease the "sag" look. I put 1200lbs of bagged cement in the back of mine and you could tell it was there but I made it home from Lowes just fine. I wouldn't want to go a long ways but for the 4 miles it was fine.

I feel the Expedition is a "People mover". I'm always amazed at how much you guys are trying to pull with them. I'd seriously just stick to a 3/4 ton truck to tow with.....

I dnt know what yr ur navy is, but what you could do is change out the rear ccd with the 18/19 my base shock and springs. My20 made ccd setup std on the nav but The base setup of the last 2 yrs is far firmer than the ccd setup. From what ive seen here, either setup will sag but most with the wdh setup are satified with the results.

The Navis have a heavier curb weight by 200-300 pounds ove r the Expys. This is why they have a lower tow rating. Not because of the suspension.

@duneslider I will definitely be getting some of those. They sound like a great quick solution! The icons are spendy but they are not only height adjustable but also shock dampening so all it would take is a twist of the dial when loading up. Considering they were designed for the Expedition I'm guessing it will be an upgrade in ride out of the box. They are also rebuild-able so if its really bad I can always get them re-valved locally. My biggest concern is getting the truck to ignore the shocks when they are missing. Either by some sort of signal replicators or tricking the truck to think it doesn't have the CCD.

@Lou Hamilton Its most likely a combination of both. The difference in capacity is 600lbs. I cant even count how many times Raptor owners would ***** about why they could only tow 2-4k less than standard F150s. There is a reason why F350s ride like poop unloaded.

@dlcorbett Truck is on order so it will be a 2020. That is good to know that there are non ccd genuine Lincoln options available. Hopefully that means I can tell the truck to not look for the shocks.

WOW! I just rechecked and you are right, there is a significant difference between the two. I could have sworn the difference was only 200-300 pounds with the Navi being able to tow 9000 pounds versus the 9200-9300 on the Expy. Thanks for the knowledge!

I've got the Icon 2.5 all around on my 2018 Limited, and I love them. I towed my 10 foot equipment trailer with it with about 5K on it, and there was no sag. I had a 2014 F-150 with the Bilsteins, and I had more sag with those than my current Icons.
