These past couple of weeks every time I start the vehicle I get an immediate message on screen that asks to check for available wifi so to be able to do updates? I have my home wifi set up on the vehicle but it asks anyway. And no matter where I am .... upon starting the vehicle this message comes up?

Anyone else getting this?

How do I disable this constant message

I keep seeing this message too. Not always though. Started happening a couple of months ago IIRC. Didn't used to be this way. I could disable the message but why are we getting it now?

Sync 3 v 3 Did it. If you connect your Truck to your house WiFi, when you startup it won’t ask, or you can turn off Auto Check, like was said above...

ooops, I should have done a search. this complaint has already been posted. I tried the turn off of wifi notice.........but ain't workin'. Still get the message. I don't want to shut off automatic updates (like if Sync 3 updates). So will wait a while and see if it decides to stop annoying me:893Chainsaw-Smilie- :)

Okay. Thanks Loki. I do have the truck's wifi setup to connect to the house's network. I suspect it doesn't always connect when I pull it out of the garage as the signal there is weak.

I believe Ford has stopped sending Wi-Fi updates, so you aren't missing anything. When a new update comes out, everyone downloads the update onto a thumbdrive and updates Sync 3 that way.

I have seen some coming down as recently as 3 weeks ago, so unless they have stopped them recently, I do not believe that as true. I agree though, that the USB method is far less painful and you will see a thread about it on here most likely if Ford releases a new one.

Sirius updates quite frequently, and these can cause the display text. I'm pretty sure these come via the satellite antenna, though.

Sirius updates show or are handled via wifi? (Just curious.)

I've seen Sirius update status messages at the top of the home screen; I think it comes direct from the satellite and not WiFi.
